Samia Saskia / sKiYYa

From a young age Samia Saskia Löffelmann-Zahedi has engaged in many different forms of artistic expression, from visual, musical and literary arts. Growing up in the United States as the daughter of an Austrian mother and an Iranian American father, she has been influenced by her parents' artistic backgrounds, which have shaped her creative approach. She has exhibited her works in cafés both in Bellingham, WA as well as Vienna, AT and was an artist in residency at Vitreo Studios in LaConner, WA after finishing high school.

sKiYYa is an alter ego who has developed over the years accompanying Samia for some time now. She is a shadow entity, an observer and a medium for exploring and understanding the world through language. Her writing style blends a visual, sensory approach with an abstract stream-of-consciousness one. sKiYYa’s writing is showcased in the form of rap lyrics within the context of her band project, sKiYYa and the Dream Machine. In 2024, she performed with her band at Kultur Sommer Wien, while also releasing her debut single, Invisible. sKiYYa is currently on a mission to return to the source of her love for words.
